Save the penguins… While sipping tea?
I’ve spent a lot of my career working on technologies that try to make the world a little better: improving food, the climate and the ecosystems around us. It’s meaningful work, but I found it too slow and distant. I wanted to do something now. I also needed to create.
So I bought a printer, named it Mosscap, and made a rule: 15% of every sale goes directly to animal welfare. That’s not a side note or a nice-to-have. It’s the reason this whole thing exists. I make things in order to fund that donation, and meanwhile try hard to make things worth owning while I’m at it, not just the same 3D-printed plexi dragons everyone is copy-pasting and selling everywhere.
Where do the funds go?
15% of every product sale actively supports animal welfare. We wanted to focus on credible organizations with real impact. These are the ones:
Wildlife Conservation Network
The Wildlife Conservation Network works directly with local conservationists to protect endangered species around the world: from African elephants to snow leopards. They focus on building programs that are rooted in local communities, which makes the conservation last. We chose them because the work is concrete and tangible: real species, real places, real people fighting for them.

Wild Animal Initiative
The Wild Animal Initiative takes a scientific approach to something most organisations don’t touch: the welfare of wild animals. They research what actually causes suffering in nature and what interventions could help, building the evidence base for a field that barely exists yet. We support them because effectiveness matters to us, and they’re one of the few organisations doing rigorous work in this space.
The Humane League
The Humane League campaigns to improve animal farming practices in countries where animals have the least protection. They work for example with corporate cage-free commitments so animals can roam free. They were independently evaluated to help an estimated 12 animals per dollar donated, making them one of the most cost-effective animal charities in the world. We chose them because the scale of farmed animal suffering is enormous, and THL is one of the sharpest tools against it.

Our accountability log
The last thing we want is for this promise to be fluffy and not visible. So to make sure we keep our promise, we will post here all the receipts of the donations made when we make them, and to which organization!
Many organizations require a minimum donation, so we aim to accumulate funds for a few months and then do one larger donation each quarter.
Keep on hold, the first donation will be published here a few months after the store opens!
